So last week, I posted about Science Olympiad, a high school club to join or even start.

Well, here’s another science club that high school and college students can get involved in.

It’s called KAST – Kids Are Scientists Too, and it’s a nonprofit whose mission is to promote interest in science among elementary school kids.

It was founded by a student in Richard Montgomery HS (my high school) a few years ago, and has spread to Virginia and Utah, as well as a few colleges, such as Princeton and Yale.

It’s very easy and really fun to get involved with. All we do is go to elementary schools after school and teach 4th and 5th graders some hands on, but pretty basic, science, using pre-written curriculum. On top of teaching at schools, we also offer annual science fairs for all the KAST students.

I loved connecting with the kids and helping them learn about all the cool activities. It’s definitely a great experience and extremely rewarding. To learn more visit the KAST website.

We are always looking for more schools to get involved at, and would love to have even more volunteers! Maybe you could found a KAST branch at your school.

Please get in touch with us! And remember, if you ever need any help with science, you can always contact an Aristotle Circle tutor.
